If you are unfortunate enough to own or lease land or buildings that are subject to a Compulsory Purchase Scheme in the UK you will need professional advice.
The law relating to these matters is set out in a number of Acts of Paliament and a detailed knowledge is required.
If your home or business is being acquired there are several heads of Claim which must be prepared and proved by evidence.
If part of your land is required it may be possible to require the Authority to take the whole in certain circumstances.
You may have suffered loss of value due to noise, fumes, or additional street lighting by virtue of the construction of a new highway or the alteration of an existing road and there are provisions for Compensation for this under the Land Compensation Act of 1973.
It should be noted that in compensation matters should you instruct us to act, our professional fees would normally be paid by the Acquiring Authority.
